Essential Oils for the Empath

On last night's Hidden Wisdom Radio Show Bernadette Dickinson and I discussed  what it is like to be empathic and tools to use to handle every day life if you are. Two essential oils that often end up in formulations I do for empaths, especially ones just learning to get a  handle on their gift, are frankincense and lemon in combination.

Frankincense helps for spiritual and emotional boundaries and for removing anything negative existing within your auric field. I call it the llama in the field. Llamas are known guard animals and can protect livestock from predators. That is one of the joys of using frankincense in your home or on your person. This essence helps produce a feeling of emotional stability while protecting your boundaries and helping you to understand exactly what those boundaries are. With that understanding it makes it easier for you to define whose emotions you are feeling - yours or someone else's feelings. The sweet spicy scent of frankincense also helps to raise one's energy higher and helps to find your courage while instilling a sense of inspiration.

In formulating for empathic souls I came across a pattern of two oils in combination within their formulations - frankincense and lemon. Lemon is the oil of clarity and direction. It completes the ability to define who you are and who someone else is and separate out the two. If in a crowd of people the empath can often be overwhelmed by other's emotions. Lemon aids in understanding where you start and end and what should be held onto and what should be discarded. It uplifts one's soul and emotions making it easier to operate from a place of love and understanding while seeing life for exactly what it is. Lemon also helps cleanse the spirit and in combination with the guardian at the gate, frankincense, they will aid you in repelling negative forces and thinking.
