Since the release of my book, Memoirs of the Bathtub Psychic: The True Story of a Clairvoyant and Her Dogs, I get asked quite often about essential oils and how I use them in the bath and for meditation. I have a long history with my deep love for essential oils - from having been involved in skin care back in the 1980s to soap making in the 1990s to studying them in depth for medicinal, spiritual and emotional healing.
I confess to having a deep addiction to rose otto essential oil, which happens to be the highest frequency of all oils at 320 MHz. It is considered spiritual and enhances the energy of every cell in the body which brings about balance and harmony. If my hair smells like roses you can rest assured that I was soaking in the tub under the influence of that heavenly flower.
For years I have been recommending oils to friends and clients that will help bring about balance emotionally and spiritually. Sometimes one particular oil seems to be right for someone for long periods of time. Sometimes they flit about from oil to oil depending on what is unfolding in their lives. I had a small amber bottle with me when visiting a friend. She saw it, opened it and breathed in the distinct smell of patchouly with two other scents she could not place.
"Where'd you get this?"
"I mix my own blends depending on what I need at the moment."
"Oh cool! What oils do I need? Can you mix them up for me?"
I knew this was the beginning of something. I mixed her oils that were mostly citrus and she loved it! I started getting calls and e-mails asking me about custom blending essential oils.
"Well - I'm not mixing a perfume for you - though you can take it that way. It's the oils I see that are the right energy for you - what will help you unfold where you are spiritually and emotionally."
So some of you may have already discovered that I have been doing free essential oil readings on my Facebook fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bethanne-Elion/52235551897
and I will keep doing so until my custom oil blending service opens in April. This way you can get a sense of what it is all about! Aside being terribly fun for me! I could surround myself with oils all day and be completely content to do nothing else.
I will be posting throughout the week about oils so please stay tuned.
Please note - please do not use essential oils around cats as they are sensitive to them in ways that can cause health damage such as ataxia. Aromatherapy for pets is a tricky thing and would suggest that you not just try oils on your dogs without an expert. I do not advise on the use of oils for dogs unless the dog is a natural diet client of mine and has gone through my body balancing program and I do not believe in using them for cats.
One's health should be in good standing to use oils. I do not recommend the use of many essential oils if you are pregnant or if you have seizure issues.
Custom blending opens in April on my web site http://www.BethanneElion.com and i will announce the opening here. Just waiting on bottles to arrive and to put a few other details in place!
